Marc Baruth

Marc Baruth is from Siegen, Germany. His work is based on the work of Peter Paul Rubens. He recreates landscapes. In his artist statement he talks a lot about reality and communication. He asks “Reality-What we perceive it to be; what it could be; what it once was”.  He also states a comment on communication, and if we really ever do communicate. I think that his work is visually interesting; you can tell that it is made up but it also looks very real. This really relates to my work, my purpose is to create these worlds that are completely fake but looks as though it could be real. His intentions are about portraying a “real” “normal” world. It is very interesting that one idea can be seen in many different ways. I think it is great to find artist that work with your ideas but portrays it in a completely different way; this helps me think more outside the box.
